- The setups for setting up the system and installing the iX products are downloaded and installed using the iX Install Manager. You can download the iX Install Manager itself from the iX Support Center on the imos homepage.
- We do not assume any liability for the loss of programs and data which can occur in connection with the installation.
- Backup your existing installation directory plus your master data and order data.
- Execute a database backup.
- Please deactivate all existing Virus scanner and Firewalls before starting the installation! If a support case occurs regarding an antivirus software that the respective antivirus software manufacturer does not support the case is excluded from support by imos AG as well.
- Download the iX Install Manager from the iX Support Center on our homepage. The tool allows you to download and launch the setups that are relevant for preparing the system and installing the software products.
- Please make sure, that the registered user has administrator rights at the time of installation.
- An SQL server is required to run iX applications. To set up the server, you can run the setup SQL Server that is available in the iX Install Manager. It installs a parallel server (named instance) by default. For applying an existing SQL Server, they must run in a so-called mixed authentication mode. The relevant SQL user and the assigned password of the SQL Server are queried during the installation.
- The installation of iX CAD AC 2021 requires an installed full version of AutoCAD® 2022 on your system. You must also have launched AutoCAD® 2022 at least once before installing iX CAD AC 2021.
- During the installation of iX CAD 2021 an AutoCAD® base is installed that is limited in functionality.
- For the installation of iX Integration Server 2021, no AutoCAD® 2022 components are installed or required. Furthermore, iX Integration Server is part of an iX CAD AC or iX CAD installation so it does not need to be installed again.
- The setups SQL Server and iX Data do not have to be executed because these components already exist on your system.
- If you do not own AutoCAD® 2022 (full version), run the setup iX CAD 2021 in the iX Install Manager.
- If you do own AutoCAD® 2022 (full version) and it is already installed on your system, run the setup iX CAD AC 2021 in the iX Install Manager.
- When starting iX for the first time, the Migration assistant is executed. With this assistant it is possible to transfer the settings from the previous version to your new version. Please follow the instructions of the migration assistant to perform the migration.

- An unattended installation is run in the Windows command line. All command parameters required are documented in detail in the chapter below.
- First, find out the setup’s file path and launch the Windows command line as an administrator. In the command line, run the respective Setup.exe in record mode (parameter /r) to generate a response file (.iss) which stores information about the data entered and options selected by the user at run time during installation.
- The recorded response file can then be used to run the setup in silent mode (parameter /s).
- Take advantage of the command templates that we prepared for each setup, if you want to (see further below). But remember to adjust the setup’s file path.

- An existing installation can be uninstalled with Windows. Doing so will not remove the database and its content!
- Only program files and registry entries are deleted!
- In Windows click on Start > Settings > Apps > Apps and Features.
- Select the app that you want to remove (iX CAD or iX CAD AC) and click Unistall.
- An iX setup launches. In the first setup dialog, click Remove all installed components.
